So this project has been live for a few months now, and I have just found the opportunity to write up about it! Which, due to the nature of the concept, I think is essential. Driven by both sustainability and recycling some time ago last year, I decided to upcycle and create an amazing one off collection of bags. The collection is aptly named ‘salvaged’ and the majority of materials used are upcycled, or scraps that would be otherwise thrown away creating a unique style with a zero waste ethos.
Several bags come in various sizes, and utilise all my fabric swatches that have been gathered over the years, old zips are taken from various used clothing and bags with the addition of new straps. Findings that I have accumulated and not used for projects, have been worked into decoration in one way or another. I have loved using up the metal stars for the front in some styles. I originally used these on a bridal dress a few years ago now!
The bags have been snapped up almost already, with just a few of these featured left to purchase! But as a complete one off, it is no surprise.
